Stax is back

In the same field as the article below, the legendary music label Stax, home to such as Otis Redding and Isaac Hayes, is to return after shutting down thirty years ago.
Originally based in a converted cinema in Memphis, Stax was responsible for the release of classic soul tracks such as ‘Respect’ and ‘Soul Man’ in the 1960s and ’70s.
Concord Records bought the Stax name in 2004, and it now plans to resurrect the iconic label with a series of new signings.
These include Hayes, who plays the voice of Chef in TV series South Park, and US R&B singer Angie Stone.
“Stax has been and always will be soul music. I was part of that. I am coming back to Stax because there is still so much to do. It’s like coming home”, Isaac Hayes told BBC.”
