Designer Jean-Paul Gaultier is the recipient of this year’s Superstar Award, presented by Fashion Group International in New York.
This year’s Night of Stars dinner and award ceremony with the theme “The Rule Breakers” will take place on October 25 in the elite restaurant Cipriani in New York, writes Vogue.
FGI, a non-profit organization that supports professionals in the fashion industry, has given the Superstar Award to some big names in the course of its 23 years: Valentino, Giorgio Armani, Donna Karan, Tom Ford and Suzy Menkes.

In a surprising move just days after firing her long-standing manager, Kelly Clarkson has canceled her summer tour — “for now” — after ticket sales for the outing did not live up to the promoter’s expectations.
The cancellation is the latest in a series of bad events for Kelly Clarkson, who has been struggling in advance of the release of her third album, My December .

Pet Shop Boys To Release Live DVD
Pet Shop Boys are to release a live DVD of their show in Mexico City last November.
Cubism Live features 27 tracks that span their 25 year career as the country’s most successful pop duo, and comes with behind the scenes footage, audio commentary and a 12-page book written by Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe.
The show was directed by David Barnard, who is known for his spectacular work on concert films by Bjork and Gorillaz.
Cubism Live will be released on 21st May.

Jackie Chan & Jet Li Team Up For ‘The Forbidden Kingdom’

The first film pairing of kung fu stars Jackie Chan and Jet Li will tell the tale of an American teenager’s fantasy journey to ancient China to rescue a mythological monkey king, the film’s U.S. distributor said.
The Forbidden Kingdom will start shooting May 2 in movie studios in Hengdian, located southwest of Shanghai, and neighboring locations, the movie’s producer, Casey Silver, said in a phone interview with the Associated Press.

James Blunt Not To Be Charged In Car Accident

Singer James Blunt won’t be charged with hit and run for an incident in which he allegedly ran over a photographer’s foot outside a pre-Oscar party in February, according to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, informs People.
The accident took place on Feb. 24 outside the home of CAA agent Brian Lourd, where Blunt and then-girlfriend Petra Nemcova had been guests at a party.
“Mr. Blunt is totally innocent,” says Blunt’s lawyer Steven M. Cron. “I’m not 100 percent sure that anyone was even hit by a car. The circumstances were so harried that there was no way in the world for him to know if he had contact with anyone.”
