In a burst of file sharing, the Board Bangers, a teenage skateboarding and urban rap music group, were anointed with a history-making accolade. They are the fastest new artist or group to go “platinum” in the growing peer to peer world of file sharing.
In only the first 10 days, 1 million people downloaded the music video for their single, Cause The Beat’s Hot. The Board Bangers also made history by being the first group to have a music video produced for every song on their debut album, informs Top40-Charts.com.
Prince Is Having Problems With UK Music Retailers
Funk legend Prince has raised the ire of music retailers across the UK after giving away copies of his new album to purchasers of a Sunday tabloid newspaper.
‘Planet Earth’, which isn’t commercially released until July 24, will also be given away at Prince’s forthcoming run of London shows.
Co-chairman of the Entertainment Retailers Association, Paul Quirk, told the Reuters news agency that the decision “beggared belief”, and that “The Artist Formerly Known as Prince should know that with behaviour like this he will soon be the Artist Formerly Available in Record Stores. It’s an insult to all those record stores who have supported Prince throughout his career.

Lily Allen Touring in U.S.
After canceling some U.S shows in April, British singer Lily Allen will be back in the country for a short fall tour in compensation.
The ‘Smile’ singer will swing to the States starting from September 6 at the prestigious San Diego’s House of Blues.
Her U.S. jaunt is preceded by a worldwide tour that will include stops in Australia, Japan, Chile, Argentina and some European countries.

The former face of L’Oreal, Natalie Imbruglia admits her contract has now ended because she doesn’t worth it anymore.
Akon To Perform In Tel Aviv
R&B artist Akon will be making a one-show stop in Israel on July 29 as part of his world tour. The singer, who has sold over 6.5 million albums worldwide to date, will be performing some of his biggest hits at Tel Aviv’s Hangar 11 at 8 p.m.
