Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Grandmaster Flash and his group the Furious Five, including Kid Creole (Nathaniel Glover), Cowboy (Keith Wiggins), Melle Mel (Melvin Glover), Mr. Ness (Eddie Morris) and Raheim (Guy Williams), will be the first hip-hop act included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after being turned down two times , in 2005 and 2006.
New York DJ Grandmaster Flash and his group will be inducted along with Van Halen, R.E.M., The Ronettes and Patti Smith.
The five inductees will be honored at a ceremony on March 12, 2007 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. Presenters and performers at the induction will be announced in February, 2007.

DJ Grandmaster Flash (real name Joseph Saddler) and his group the Furious Five were hip-hop’s greatest innovators. Also they achieved platinum status in 1982 with the release of The Message.
